Women's Bone Health: Myths Vs. Facts

Myth: Only Calcium intake is needed for strong bones

Fact: To maintain strong bones you don’t just need an adequate intake of calcium, but also Vitamin D for calcium absorption and Vitamin K2 for binding calcium to bones. Remember, Vitamin K2 is not commonly found in the Indian diet, and Vitamin D is not even available in your daily diet.

Myth: You can feel your bones get weaker.

Fact: Unfortunately, there are no visible signs of weak bones. They often go unnoticed over the years, with no symptoms or discomfort until a bone breaks.

Myth: It is impossible to rebuild bone once bone loss occurs.

Fact: Bone is a dynamic, living tissue undergoing bone renewal, which involves both bone formation and bone loss throughout life. After the age of 30, bones start to lose Calcium and this is why women need to take an adequate amount of calcium, Vitamin D and Vitamin K2, daily.
